The rock bolt is very versatile

1, Suspension function of rock bolt: the rock bolt passes through the weak, loose and unstable rock and soil body, anchored on the deep and stable rock and soil body, providing sufficient pulling force to overcome the self-weight and sliding force of the rock mass falling off, preventing the wall from slipping and collapsing.

2, Extrusion reinforcement function: after the rock bolt is stressed, a compression zone is formed within a certain range around. Arranging the rock bolt in an appropriate manner so that the compression zones formed by the adjacent rock bolt overlap each other to form a compression belt.

3, Composite beam (arch) function: after the rock bolt is inserted into the formation to a certain depth, the layers under the anchoring force are pressed against each other, the frictional resistance between the layers is increased, and the internal stress and deflection are greatly reduced, which is equivalent to the simple overlapping of several layers of beams (arch) into a composite beam (arch). The bending stiffness and strength of the composite beam(arch) are greatly improved, thereby enhancing the bearing capacity of the formation. The greater the anchoring force provided by the anchor, the move obvious the effect.

4, Rock bolt length: the total length required for the bolt to function effectively. When calculated by suspension, it is the sum of anchor length, reinforcement length and exposed length. When calculated according to the combined beam(arch) , it is the sum of the height and the exposed length of the composite beam(arch) of 1.2 times. In the actual value, the additional length of the excavation contour is also considered to be increased.

5, Anchor length: the length of the rock bolt anchored into the stable formation can be selected empirically or calculated. When selected by experience, consider the anchoring method and anchor diameter. When selecting according to the calcucation, consider the adhesion between the mortar and the anchor and the adhesion between the mortar and the hole wall.

6, Reinforcement length: the height of the dangerous rock suspended along the direction of the bolt, or the height of the surrounding rock load, can also be determined by the method of measuring the thickness of the loose ring by sound wave and other testing techniques.

7, Test of rock bolt pull: one of the methods for testing the construction quality of anchors and measuring the pullout resistance of anchors. Before the anchor is covered by the shotcrete, measure it directly with a bolt ram or torque wrench. After clamping the anchor, slowly and evenly pressurize until the pressure gauge reading reaches the value corresponding to the design value, or loosen the anchor, generally do not do the destructive test. After the anchor is covered by the shotctete, after the bolt detector is used to find out, the anchor is shaved and then measured. The number of inspections shall be 30-50 meters per length of the cavern or one set per 300 anchors, and each group shall be no less than 3, which shall be uniformly select       ed in a row of anchors in the same section of the inspection point.
